Another Nos Kasa has been created in the village of Povoacao Velha which is located 15 km southeast of Sal Rei, just 10 minutes from Rabil's International Airport Aristides Pereira. The Bed&Breakfast is easily accessible by taxi, car or quad bike, as the road is well-marked, new and completely paved from 2020.
The first human settlement of the island was in Povacao Velha (the name means ‘old population’); the town was in fact the capital of Boa Vista until 1810. It is a small village without hotels, very pretty, the houses are typical and (still) original both in their characteristic and in the colors, beautiful and lively like Africans!
Here reigns peace and tranquility, the only noises are the voices of children playing and the crowing of the roosters. The neighbours all know each other and get along very well.
As in the past, there are those who make bread and biscuits in the wood-baking oven in their own home and then sell it to neighbours, and those who have created a small shop for all necessities. There are also nice bars in the square.
Many tourists are attracted by this small town as it is close to the beaches of Varandinha and Santa Monica, considered the most beautiful in all of Cape Verde, a mandatory stop for those looking for deserted beaches, with fabulous and crystal clear water.

In 2017 it was completely renovated preserving the authenticity of the structure and the traditional colors, as well as the surrounding environment. Where possible, the original floors, walls, ceilings and stones have been maintained. The position of the rooms and the bathrooms ALSO REFLECTS THE ORIGINAL STRUCTURE, WITH THE ADDITION OF ALL COMFORTS from THE MODERN TIMES, as THE free WIFI IN ALL areas
The rooms are on the ground floor. The central part of the structure consists of a large living room divided by relaxation area with sofas and dining area with a refrigerator, of a quintal (typical inner courtyard) and of the kitchen. THESE SPACES could be used by all guests FOR A TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST OR DINNER.
There are 3 bedrooms. Room #1 and #2 can be reached directly from the quintal, while access to room #3 is from the living room. Each room has a private bathroom, but only room #1 has an en-suite bathroom.
A stone staircase leads to the roof of the house where you can enjoy a great view of Povoacao Velha and Varandinha beach from a magnificent terrace. Part of the terrace is well shaded by a wooden structure.
